For anyone working closely with community animals, one reality becomes impossible to ignore — feeding alone is not enough. Without sterilization, the number of dogs continues to grow, and with it, the cycle of suffering.
More births mean:
- more puppies struggling to survive
- more disease, injury, and neglect
- and increasing pressure on already fragile street ecosystems
Over time, we realised something fundamental: Rescue helps an animal survive today. Sterilization ensures fewer have to suffer tomorrow.
Sterilization Sankalp 2025 was built to make this solution accessible — to support caregivers, enable communities, and create long-term, humane change at scale.

Prevents uncontrolled population growth
Reduces suffering of street-born puppies
Minimises territorial aggression and conflict
Improves overall health of community dogs
Most importantly: It is the only humane and legally recognised solution under the Animal Birth Control (ABC) Rules, 2023. If we truly want to reduce suffering, we must address its cause — not just its consequences.
